Prof. Bart Muys starts working at EFIMED
Professor Bart Muys is a Belgian forest ecologist with a PhD in Agricultural Sciences/Forest Ecology from the University of Gent. He is a professor at the Catholic University of Lovain (Belgium) and worked previously as the director of the Royal Institute for Sustainable Management of Natural Resources and Promotion of Clean Technologies in Brussels. He has managed and coordinated over 35 research projects and has published 450 research papers, book chapters and reports.
Prof. Muys has been recruited as a Senior Scientist for Forest Ecology
and Management by EFIMED. Among his main tasks, Prof. Muys will
coordinate and promote EFIMED research, networking and capacity-building
activities and related projects in the following MFRA scientific
areas: - Impact of climate and land-use changes on forest
ecosystems functioning (including biodiversity) and related key
resources: water and soil
- Models and decision systems for optimising forest management planning
Prof.
Muys will also promote research networking activities involving EFIMED
members, as well as open new avenues for consolidating EFIMED activities
