EFIMED in the Ministerial Meeting of Forestry Institutes of Turkey
 On December 17th 2008 Dr. Marc Palahi presented EFIMED during the opening of the Annual Meeting of Forest Research Institutes in Antalya, Turkey.
Discussions on future collaboration started with the aim to organise a course on forest fires.

MFRA will become an integral part of FTP/SRA
The European Forest-Based Sector Technology Platform (FTP) has provided the framework for the Mediterranean forest research community to develop the Mediterranean Forest Research Agenda (MFRA) as part of the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA). This acceptance gives a high profile to the Mediterranean Agenda.

EFIMED Annual Meeting 2009 - Marrakech
29th April - 1st May 2009
 The EFIMED Annual Meeting will include a Progress Meeting and a Scientific Seminar dealing with “Mediterranean forests in the context of integrated management of land resources: Soil, Water and Fodder”.
The Registration has been opened. We encourage interested participants to use the chance of "early bird" rates.
Open call for poster communications.
The Scientific Committee will select the most outstanding abstracts on the thematics for a poster session. The deadline for submitting is 15 March 2009.

Research Scholarships for EFI Member Organisations
EFI welcomes applications from young researchers or PhD students who are employed by, attached to or registered with EFI Associate or Affiliate Members.
Each scholarship will be for 3 months at EFI Headquarters (Joensuu, Finland) or EFIMED (Barcelona, Spain)
