European National Forest Research Institutes met in Dublin

Mr. Seán Connick, TD, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food with responsibility for forestry, officially opened a meeting of the Heads of European National Forest Research Institutes at the Royal College of Physicians, Dublin. Representatives from 15 European countries, as well as the European Forest Institute, attended the meeting which took place 5-7 July. Director Risto Päivinen represented EFI in the meeting.

IPCC announced the list of selected authors for its Fifth Assessment Report

The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has announced the release of the final list of selected Coordinating Lead Authors, Lead Authors and Review Editors. This unique team of 831 climate change experts will dedicate almost four years to the three Working Group Reports of the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) to be published between 2013 and 2014. These experts will also provide contributions to the Synthesis Report to be published in 2014.

EFI's Assistant Director, Gert-Jan Nabuurs will be one of the Review Editors of  Working Group III: Climate Change 2014: Mitigation of Climate Change.
