Italy ratifies EFI Convention
Soon after ratification by Greece, Italy joined the group of ratifying countries. The Convention on EFI has now been ratified by a total of 19 European countries. The ratifying countries are now Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the UK.

Register to EFI Annual Conference!
This year's EFI's Annual Conference will be held in Dublin, Ireland, on 3–5 September. The registration has opened, and you can find the programme on the Conference web pages. The theme of the Scientific Seminar on 4 September is Forest Ecosystem Management in the 21st Century.

Membership survey coming up
The Board of EFI has agreed to conduct a survey among EFI Associate and Affiliate Members about their views of EFI and how EFI could better serve its member organisations. The Board has commissioned an external evaluator, Mr Pertti Laine, to conduct this survey and the results of the survey will be presented at the EFI Annual Conference in Dublin, Ireland on 3 September 2009. A questionnaire will be sent to the official contact persons in member organisations next week by e-mail. We hope you will have a moment to give your valuable views.
