EFI Policy Brief 5 and VPA Training Films are out now!

The EFI Policy Brief 5 "Changing International Markets for Timber and Wood Products – Main Policy Instruments" and four FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement Training Films have been recently published. These materials are available in English, French and Spanish.

European Commission Green Paper on forest protection and information

The results are now available of the public consultation on the EC Green Paper on Forest Protection and Information in the EU: Preparing forests for climate change. The consultation was opened on 1 March 2010, and at the closure of the consultation on 31 July 2010, 261 responses had been received.

New COST actions in the Forests, their Products and Services

Three new COST actions have been approved:

• FP1004 – Enhance mechanical properties of timber, engineered wood products and timber structure
• FP1005 – Fibre suspension flow modelling – a key for innovation and competitiveness in the pulp & paper industry
• FP1006 – Bringing new functions to wood through surface modification
